AARP's Photography team is seeking an organized and collaborative undergraduate intern to join their team during the 2018-2019 academic year. This position is informative, coordinative, persuasive, and involves some interactions with editors, at every level, designers, photographers. If you have an interest in visual arts and would like to be a part of this team to assist the photo department in achieving its goals for AARP’s success, join us for this exciting opportunity as an intern.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist in maintaining the photo library for AARP, organizing and performing metadata and photo archiving functions;
  • Provide photo research and assistance with photo shoot production;
  • Provide various administrative tasks, including managing magazine library, prop sales, and publication’s PDF distribution;
  • Perform photography functions based on skill level – still-lives, reportage, social.
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful and a strong collaborator. 
  • Photo-editing background and knowledge of photography and photographers are a plus for this internship.  
  • AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. 
  • This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
