The Economic Participation Intern provides day-to-day administrative, programmatic and logistical support duties to program, finance and director-level staff in the Economic Participation Department within the Global Education, Employment and Engagement (G3E) Business Unit. Support may be provided to the overall business unit, departments and practice areas, and/or specific projects and/or business development opportunities. The Intern works closely with program and finance managers to manage documentation in Costpoint and to ensure that invoices are processed in a timely manner. The Intern prepares documents and reports; uses office technology for compiling records, organizing and maintaining files and posting information; greets/refers/assists others; and supports with mail distribution, photocopying and scanning. The Intern collects and verifies data, summarizes and reconciles information. The Intern supports with coordination and records management.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serves as a primary resource for assistance and support to the Work and Youth Practices within the Economic Participation Department. 
  • Performs desk research and other related program and/or business development related tasks as requested. 
  • Supports home office closeout tasks on the Jordan LENS Project.
  • Performs and provides administrative, programmatic and logistical support duties. Prepares documents and reports, compiles records, organizes and maintains project resources, manages communications and information flows internally and externally.
  • Supports events and drafts and/or compiles communication documents to quality standards and company policy. Assists in the development of communications materials, such as content for website, activity and project descriptions, event announcements, and technical deliverables.
  • Performs day-to–day routines independently with own initiative.
  • Ensures documentation and reports are tracked regularly.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Associate’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, International Development, Economics, Human Development or related field. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English. Additional fluency in Arabic, French, or Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communications skills.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Quantitative skills a plus.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines.
