As an intern, you will utilize your digital expertise and writing and editing skills to produce compelling content for the 50-plus demographic. From breaking news, personal finance, and healthcare to travel, leisure, and entertainment, you will apply your creative thinking to deliver the right message for the right medium, enriching your stories with digital assets, cutting-edge formats, and innovative presentations.

On an average day, you will be:
- Pitching, reporting and writing news and feature content for the AARP.org website and the AARP Now app
- Attending morning news meetings and participating in story concept development sessions
- Attending and reporting from press briefings, conferences and other events
- Doing background research to support current and future editorial content projects for digital platforms
- Performing other editorial and digital production duties as needed
- AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers.
- This may include those who have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program.
- Previous writing experience a big plus.
