As the Risk and Policy Analyst, you will be part of the larger Risk and Compliance Team, reporting into the Manager, Risk and Policy. You will be a strong project manager who will lead and support different risk management and policy projects across the organization, including quarterly risk reporting, bi-annual policy update process, managing the organization’s insurance portfolio, and other critical initiatives. You will also utilize your outstanding critical thinking, communication, and project-management skills to collaborate on key strategic initiatives within the team and across the organization. You will be part of a small and dynamic team that provides strategic perspective to both our national and regional teams.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Risk Management (40%)

  • Coordinate quarterly risk conversations with senior leaders across the organization to help TFA maintain an accurate risk profile
  • Plan and support key risk management projects such as regional risk reviews

Project and Policy Management (35%)

  • Contribute to org-wide efforts to educate staff on TFA policies
  • Support efforts to continue to refine and streamline TFA’s internal policies and make them more easily accessible
  • Archive policies so that they are available for historical record each year
  • Act as hub of staff policy knowledge, and support staff with questions about policies
  • Support other risk & compliance projects as needed

Insurance Management (25%)

  • Manage insurance e-mail inbox; respond to queries coming in from national and regional teams
  • Support annual insurance renewal process
  • Track and follow up on claims and other insurance related matters
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years of work experience, project management experience required. Insurance experience is helpful but not required (e.g. claims management, policy renewal, etc.)
  • Proven history of taking initiative and driving projects forward
  • Strong reasoning skills and the ability to conduct analyses to support decision-making
  • Comfort making data driven recommendations
  • Strong communication skills with respect to written communication, and meeting planning & facilitation
  • Ability to understand the perspective of others, and relate complex material in approachable manner
  • Ability to build trust-based and meaningful relationships across the organization to meet shared outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and to drive projects forward independently
  • Intermediate skills with MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, G Productivity Suite, and Google Sites
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with a keen focus on attention to detail
  • Flexibility; must have the ability to adjust to quickly changing requirements and requests with a strong eye towards outcomes
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion

Work Demands

  • This position is geographically flexible
  • Occasional travel required (once every six months)
