Global Campaigns Manager - Climate Solutions

350.org is looking for Global Campaigns Manager to lead on supporting 350.org to grow its campaign strategy on community-led energy climate solutions/ just transition to renewable energy.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Are you passionate that it’s possible for the world to shift rapidly to a new, just, clean energy economy that works for everyone? Do you have ideas how to bring it about, led by people and communities? Are you great at supporting campaigning in diverse contexts, particularly the global south?

This role will lead on supporting 350.org to grow its campaign strategy on community-led energy climate solutions/ just transition to renewable energy. Success in the role over time will look like 350 developing expertise, innovation and influence in this area, with more 350 teams running impactful renewable energy campaigns with local groups, and joint campaign actions for a just transition with climate justice partners. The role is housed in the Programme Department, and will be in service to the regional campaign teams organising and mobilising, particularly in the global south.

This role is part of 350.org’s bigger vision - we believe to solve the climate crisis, we need to leverage people power to create a fossil free world. We aim to  dismantle the influence and infrastructure of the fossil fuel industry, using online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions worldwide. Our campaigns are opposing new coal, oil and gas projects, taking money out of the companies that are heating up the planet, and accelerating the shift to a new, just, clean energy economy that works for everyone.

Skills/Experience: 
  • At least four - six (4 - 6) years of experience professionally practicing some of the below competencies.
  • Good knowledge of campaigning for community-led climate solutions/ just transition to renewable energy, particularly in global south contexts.
  • Skilled at managing process of research and policy development with external consultants, specifically in support of campaign strategies.
  • Strong aptitude for communication, facilitation and training skills to help guide, inspire, consult and coordinate with remote and diverse teams from different regions.
  • Understanding of 350.org’s campaigns and theory of social change.
  • Ability to exercise independent/good judgement on campaign strategy and campaign management.

Desired (but not required) skills and experiences

  • Network of existing contacts and ability to strengthen campaigning relationships with organisations and researchers advocating for climate solutions/ just transition to renewable energy, preferably around the world.
  • Experience building local to national or national to multi-country campaign strategies.
  • Experience working with communications teams for campaigning,
  • Experience of fundraising for campaigns.
  • Experience of developing trainings for groups of staff and local groups.
  • Able to travel internationally very occasionally during the year.
  • Working level standard of written and spoken English.

  • Thailand: 771,200Baht -  964,000Baht
  • UK: 33,800GBP -  42,300GBP
