FHI 360 currently is seeking qualified candidates for the position of: TB Specialist for the anticipated USAID Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia (ETICA) Program.
The TB Specialist will manage all activities of the USAID Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia (ETICA) Program in Tajikistan; provide overall coordination of all aspects of project implementation, including program quality. S/he will ensure close coordination with USAID, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, ensuring that all project interventions are of high quality and lead to measurable impact. In consultation with the Technical Director, the TB Specialist will lead the prioritization, sequencing, and selection and implementation of interventions, including monitoring and evaluation of progress towards project goals and objectives.
The TB Specialist will be located in Tajikistan.
- Coordinates the technical and operational aspects of the project, including planning and implementation of all interventions, ensuring clarity of plans and priorities;
- Coordinates and is responsible for the preparation of the annual work plans, budgets, and annual progress reports in a timely fashion for submission to Technical Director;
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with the local USAID Mission as well as with the national TB program and other consortium partners
- Ensures high technical standards are used to guide the technical and programmatic aspects of work plans and activities;
- Establishes, serves, and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on project matters. Represent the project in key meetings, including appropriate working groups, conferences, etc.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in public health, particularly leading and designing health programs (Tuberculosis); experience in working in the former Soviet Union or in countries with formerly centrally managed economies is desired;
- At least 5 years of professional experience in project management and leadership;
- Proven experience working with government officials, particularly the Ministry of Health is highly desirable, to support strategy development, implementation plans and decision making;
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to plan, organize, and manage resources for successful completion of projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Russian is desired.
