The San Jose Conservation Corps (SJCC) is hiring temporary corpsmembers (up to 100) to help respond to the urgent need for food assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Training provided at beginning of each shift. Full-time, 40 hours per week on a temporary basis through December 2020 (possibly longer).

• Compensation starts at $15.25 per hour.

SJCC offers paid job training for young adults between the ages of 18 and 27. Corpsmembers serve our local community by caring for our natural resources, increasing recycling, and responding to local emergencies. For more information about the Corps, visit www.sjcccs.org.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Prepare food for distribution by sorting, labeling, and repacking food items. Work in a commercial foodbank warehouse in San Jose.

Educational Background: 
High School Diploma
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications:

• Must be between 18 and 27 years old.

• No prior work experience necessary.

No minimum education required, however, if you do not have a high school diploma, there is the option of enrolling in our charter school, starting in August. Driver's license not required.

 

Desired Skills:

Must be able to follow directions.

• Ability to work on a fast paced environment and as part of a team.

• Ability to lift 25lbs, possibly more.

Compensation/Benefits: 

$15.25-$15.50

Founded in 1987, the SJCC+CS has provided more than 17,000 opportunity young men and women with academic education, hands-on learning, and development of basic skills. The SJCC+CS offers secondary education courses through its on-site charter school and career technical education and job training through its Projects and Recycling Departments.
