Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas including accounts payable, payroll, treasury, contract billing and general ledger account reconciliation

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts payable checks weekly.
  • Manage and process the payroll on a biweekly basis.
  • Input credit and debits to the accounting system in support of the payables work.
  • Develop and maintain reports and files on the Accounts Payable processing.
  • Input general ledger entries for intercompany account changes.
  • Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances.
  • Prepare weekly cash position reports for submission to Executive Directors
  • Carry out monthly general ledger balance sheet reports reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly billing for specific contracts.
  • Maintain grants schedule.
  • Develop and maintain all grant contracts files.
  • Administer credit card statements, reconcile for payment.
  • Maintain and provide monthly balances of client trust accounts.
Educational Background: 
B.S. Accounting/Finance
Skills/Experience: 
  • B.S. Accounting/Finance
  • 3-5 years experience in accounting or accounts payable desk.
  • Accufund accounting system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry.
  • Proven, solid Excel skills and exposure to automated accounting systems
