Position is responsible for assisting customers and providing the ultimate in customer service, serving as ambassadors for Habitat. They are the first and last smiling faces customers see as they enter and leave the store. They are friendly and energetic. They must represent Habitat favorably within the community, develop and maintain good relationship with customers, donors, volunteers and partners. Attitude is key. At all times, this leader must be an example to other associates, volunteers, and the community in demonstrating Habitat principles, adherence to ReStore procedure and safety guidelines, and demonstrating work ethic and productivity.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as a lead cashier to accurately ring up purchases. Oversee opening and closing procedures for the cash register.
  • Assisting customers by answering questions and enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and answering questions.
  • Supervising the scheduling and work flow of other CS associates and front end volunteers.
  • Training and mentoring of CS associates and volunteers, handling some elevated issues, and performing assigned lead roles and functions.
  • Assisting management in personnel including hiring, training and evaluations of CS Associates.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Handling cash, basic math, counting skills, calculator use. Must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Must have at least 1 year of supervisory retail experience.
  • Successful employees will have problem solving and analytical ability to utilize time management and space management to juggle an ever-changing environment.
  • Communication skills and interpersonal skills are important for dealing with customers as well as fellow staff members.
