Strategic Director, Account Management within the Corporate Alliances & Solutions organization is responsible for developing a revenue pipeline of new corporate partnerships cultivating and growing existing national, multi-dimensional, million-dollar+ corporate and retailer partnerships. These corporate relationships are critical to the growth of ACS – both in advancing mission efforts, customer engagement/relevancy and, most importantly, revenue generation.   The Strategic Director will bring an experience in the consumer, services, retail, and restaurant industry sectors.

This Strategic Director must be able to influence and learn from diverse internal stakeholders to identify and develop the best value proposition for each account for mission impact and revenue generation. He/she must have knowledge base of sales, marketing, foundation, CSR, employee engagement/HR, procurement, benefits to develop partnerships. In addition, he/she will be accountable for working with those in regional geographies in order to coordinate and implement the best account strategy for ACS. Also, this leader interacts with external CEOs, EVPs, SVPs across many functions – depending on the access point within a corporation – in order to assess the mutually beneficial intersection for collaboration.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Identify, prospect and develop new corporate partners and a new corporate partner revenue pipeline
  • Present multi-dimensional proposals to corporate prospects
  • Grow the base of new corporate targets across multiple industry verticals (retail, consumer, services, technology etc.)
  • Develop a good understanding of all the organization’s assets and new business opportunities
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key partner needs and requirements
  • Work with internal ACS staff to identify new opportunities for support and corporate collaborations, including cause-marketing, sponsorship, licensing and workplace giving
  • Develop trusted relationships with F1000 corporate partners as the primary point of contact and day to day relationship manager
  • Expand the relationships with existing partners by implementing on deliverables continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Ensure the correct programs and services are delivered to partners and implemented in a timely manner
  • Serve as the link of communications between key partners and internal teams at the American Cancer Society
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by partners and deal with complaints
  • Plays an integral part in generating incremental sales with existing partners resulting in longer-lasting and deeper relationships
  • Steward and prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
  • Engages cross-functional associates in delivery of the multi-faceted account plan.
  • Works with ACS cross-functional constituents (Cancer Control, ACS CAN, Marketing etc.) to ensure ACS is advancing the right mission and revenue priorities with the right partners within industry focus.
  • Deals with C-Suite Leaders at Fortune 1000 Companies in partnership development.
  • Leverages network, personal and organizational, to open doors for ACS.
  • Develops executive presentations for the short-term and long-range plans for accounts.
  • Serves as source of expertise to colleagues in development of account plans and selling know-how.
  • Leads the channel selling, planning and execution efforts for existing accounts across the Society.
  • Works proactively with corporate development/marketing team in developing the right tools to support account opportunities, specifically and/or industry-wide.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree; MBA preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • 8+ years of account development/sales management
  • Experience in targeted industries (retail, consumer, restaurant, services, technology)
  • A highly trained account development manager with a track record of successfully establishing and managing multi-dimensional partnerships in targeted industries – non-profit experience a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Ability to travel (by car and/or airplane) when as required (est. 20-25%)
