Lexington Habitat for Humanity is currently accepting applications for a ReStore Manager position. The ReStore Manager manages the daily operations of the ReStore (Winchester Rd. Location) in addition to the short and long-term planning for sales growth, staffing needs, and customer development. Additionally, the ReStore Manager maintains a positive and productive work environment for staff and volunteers and an enjoyable experience for customers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages Restore staff – includes warehouse staff and floor staff – and provides staff with the expectations, support and training needed to perform responsibilities and achieve goals.
  • Promotes and ensures a safety compliance culture among staff and volunteers through training and communication of clear expectations.
  • Sets guidelines and expectations for ReStore volunteer program.
  • Enforces ReStore policies and procedures among staff, volunteers and customers.
  • Manages pricing expectations as well as markdown procedures.
  • Maintains accurate sales records.
  • Sets and communicates to floor and warehouse staff expectations for store cleanliness and merchandise display.
  • Monitors budgeted sales goals and plans for ways to exceed these goals.
  • Monitors operating expenses.
  • Coordinates with Development Manager on inventory needs.
  • Coordinates with other ReStore Manager on marketing, sales, and promotions. Additionally, works with other ReStore Manager on staffing needs and development of store policies and procedures.
  • Ensures proper handling of customer complaints
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of management experience in retail, resale, hospitality management or applicable management experience in another field.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Creative self-starter with the ability to work both independently and with other staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to provide direction to other staff and volunteers.
  • Physical ability to complete work on the job site or in the store/warehouse, even during inclement weather.
  • Able to safely move heavy donations using dollies and other provided tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
  • Building supplies or furniture retail experience preferred.
  • Retail merchandising or other décor/design experience preferred.
  • Substance screening, criminal background check, driving record history, and reference check will be conducted on the prospective employee prior to the extension of a job offer.
  • Reports to: External Relations Director
  • Time Requirements: Full-time, including regular availability for weekend and evening hours
  • Permits and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License
