The Greenwich Audubon Center in Greenwich, CT provides the opportunity to work in a day camp setting. Camp runs for eight weeks and campers spend time exploring the meadows, ponds, and forests at the Audubon Center. The First Aid Director will be responsible for responding to all first aid/CPR incidences and emergencies that take place during the Audubon Greenwich Summer Camp hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - June 24 – August 16). In addition, The First Aid Director will be on call during the camp overnight from 3 p.m. Thursday, August 15 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 16.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Respond to all First Aid and CPR emergencies and maintain medical records.
- Maintain and administer camper medications as necessary.
- Monitor First Aid supplies and restock as necessary.
- Perform all First Aid Director duties as outlined by the CT Youth Camp Policy.
- Assist with summer camp administrative tasks as needed, including contacting camper parents/guardians when necessary.
- Assist Camp Director with all aspects of summer camp.
- Support summer camp staff as needed.
Skills/Experience:
- Good communicator and team player with a great attention to detail.
- 21 years old or older.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to attend a training prior to the start of camp).
- Current driver’s license and transportation.
- Must be available for the entire duration of the employment period. This position begins on June 1, 2019 and ends on August 16, 2019.
- Some experience with children or teaching preferred but not required.
- Natural history knowledge preferred, not required.
