The intern will shadow Relay For Life Staff, including possible participation in after hour’s meetings and events. The intern will not have a set or pre-determined work load, but may assist with existing events, new events, market research, marketing, sales, new business and/or event research including but not limited to analysis, recommendation, establishment, sales, marketing, and recruitment and shadowing a Relay Staff Member on deployment/execution. The main focus of the internship will be to provide opportunities for the intern to learn non-profit fundraising, market research & analysis, sales, marketing, event planning, organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, how to communicate with a large group, how to communicate and work with volunteers, how to prepare and present corporate/public presentations, how to organize and plan meetings and/or events, track weekly progress, how to manage and build relationships with businesses, sponsors and teams. They will also learn how to work and communicate in an office setting with co-workers and supervisors, and depending upon experience; they may learn new or increase knowledge of business technology. This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
- Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale);
- Plan to continue their education in the following term/semester
- Note: an internship assignment may coincide with the student’s last term/trimester, but student must disengage upon graduation.
