We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Gender and Inclusion Advisor for an anticipated USAID-funded education activity.

The purpose of this anticipated five-year project is to: 1) expand the innovative learning instruction methods in reading, math, and business (21st century) skills into the national curriculum in all 2400 of Georgia’s primary schools for grades 1-6, including schools in marginalized communities; 2) Strengthen teacher development curricula and teacher induction activities in universities across the country that will result in a highly-qualified cadre of teachers. This project will take place in the Republic of Georgia with an anticipated duration of five years.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Promote inclusive education methodologies, principles, and practices in all levels in project activities.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance on Gender and Social Inclusion to the program team.
  • Liaise and support the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in the delivery of inclusive education strategies for students with disabilities at scale.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on gender, disability, and inclusion issues.
  • Work together with MEL officers to design and develop the project MEL system including establishing a learning agenda, refining indicators, setting targets for all indicators, planning of all necessary data collection and analysis.
  • Contribute to collaborative, learning and adaptive approach throughout the entire project; design program learning plan, ensure that findings from all monitoring, assessment and survey activities are fed back into the project and disseminated to stakeholders and partners for continuous program adjustments.
  • Provide high quality and timely submission of all required project reports, including documentation of success stories, analysis of data for indicator calculation, summary of learning agenda findings, etc.
Educational Background: 
Master’s degree or its international equivalent in social science, management, international development, gender studies, or a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience designing and implementing activities related to gender equality, disability, and social inclusion.
  • Experience coordinating with governments, ministries and/or local NGOs, as well as local communities, for design and implementation.
  • Have all necessary computer, database, statistical software, and analytical skills.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Georgian required. 
  • Fluency in English required; additional Russian language proficiency preferred.
