The Systems Admin position is a temporary position (up to 6 months) responsible for effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for the FHI 360 production environment. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, security systems and related procedures adhere to organizational, industry, and governmental standards.

Areas of Responsibility: 

This individual is primarily responsible for hardware and software infrastructure in the FHI360 Production environment.  Responsibilities include systems administration, engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to

  • Install new / rebuild existing servers, both physical and virtual, and configure services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements Develop and maintain HW/SW installation and configuration procedures.
  • Works independently and within team atmosphere.
  • Perform operational and preventative functions on phishing, filtering, traffic shaping, firewall auditing.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Configure / add new services as necessary.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation for standard operating procedures.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent – Computer Engineering, Computer Science, information technology or military experience equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Successful candidate must be knowledgeable and experienced with Microsoft Server Systems, networking basics, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Windows Server 2008 and 2012).   
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
