Science Communications Internship

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Science Communications Internship (Part time - 20 weeks) position located in our headquarters office in Dallas, TX.

In this role, you will be working closely with the Science Media Relations team and helping the team with writing, editing and proofreading science news and announcements. The intern will assist in the selection of science worth promoting to the media and public; work with freelance writers, route material for various layers of approval, analyze media coverage and research appropriate media contacts . Intern may interview researchers or volunteers, add relevant links to science news, and perform other duties to assist the team.

Educational Background: 
Currently enrolled in a college/University
Skills/Experience: 
  • Background in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations etc
  • Strong communications and writing skills
