Intern - Strategic Alliances and Partnership

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary Internship in our Health Equity team located in Dallas, TX.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing operational support to the Strategic Alliances and Partnership teams, including research, initiative support, reporting, as well as event planning and management. Responsible for participating in business strategy planning, initiative execution, meeting planning and management, volunteer development and partnership curation.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Schedule and manage logistics for meetings and teleconferences
  • Plan and execute projects assigned by lead to ensure timely completion
  • Manage reporting/analytics for projects as needed
  • Keep up to date with trending topics and innovations regarding social determinants of health and diversity
  • Manage time sheets, expense reports and other AHA process driven activities and systems
  • Coordinate bulk mailing/shipping for program/initiatives, electronic and paper file management
Educational Background: 
College student or recent college graduate with emphasis in Communications, Public Health, Business, Marketing, Project Management or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • Understanding of the multicultural audience
  • Experience/comfortableworking with technology, with proficient computer literacy with MS Office Suit
  • Strong project management and/or organizational skills including problem solving techniques. Must be flexible in ability to handle multiple projects including unexpected projects and urgent deadlines
  • Demonstrated competence and success in prior assignments, and personal integrity are required
  • Superb oral and written communication skills with professional business presentation skills
  • Proven ability to meet and interact with the all levels of AHA staff, public, national volunteers and external vendors; strong interpersonal skills
