The Production Coordinator will serve on the administrative team for projects of The Pilgrim Press (and its imprints) and of Justice & Local Church Ministries. The primary responsibilities for the Production Coordinator will be to: (1) maintain production calendar for all projects; (2) communicate with vendors, freelancers, and outsourced contractors; (3) maintain sales data, online and warehouse inventory, and royalty information; (4) effectively execute administration of production processes for new titles, reprints, and digital books; (5) serve as in-house designer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track all publication projects from development through completion alongside Managing Editor and Production Coordinator, with specific responsibility for production deadlines and affiliated paperwork;
- Communicate with vendors and freelancers and contractors, and solicit projects bids from potential vendors, freelancers, and contractors;
- Manage design processes for books of The Pilgrim Press and its imprints, for products by the Stillspeaking Writers’ Group, and for other copyrighted resources such as the Book of Worship;
- Provide in-house design on StillSpeaking Writers’ Group projects as assigned;
- Process accounting paperwork to support an effective publishing operation:
- coordinate royalty information and permissions fees with accounting office;
- track sales goals and project budgets;
- keep master files in working order by adding new projects and culling old information;
- Coordinate reprints for titles of The Pilgrim Press and its imprints as needed to maintain warehouse stock;
- Maintain online inventory and addition of new titles to thepilgrimpress.com;
- Support the publications ministry with office supply ordering, customer phone calls as needed, and check requests and reimbursements;
- Other duties as assigned by the Managing Editor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience with communication through social media and other online platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest to grow in the publishing industry.
- High degree of computer competence included demonstrated adaptability to new programs.
- Demonstrated capacities to be a self-starter, able to prioritize work effectively and to perform work with minimum supervision.
- Strong understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion, and a demonstrated capacity for managerial and human relation skills.
- Commitment to be a team player who can create and maintain a team environment.
- Capacity and sensitivity to work in a diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious setting with a commitment to pluralism in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission.
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of United Church of Christ polity, structure, and mission.
