Sunbridge Institute, Inc., a 50+-year-old non-profit institution located in Rockland County, NY, offering programs and courses in Waldorf Education and Waldorf teacher education, is seeking to add a new part-time (minimum 30 hour/week) admissions and summer coordinator to its team of highly motivated professionals. Sunbridge is looking for candidates who strongly identify with our values, mission, and goals, and who are eager to contribute their ideas, energy, and skills to the close working team of Sunbridge administrators and faculty.

A worldwide leader in Waldorf teacher education, Sunbridge Institute is situated on a beautiful 140-acre campus within easy commuting distance of NYC, northern NJ, and Westchester County. Sunbridge prides itself on offering its employees a warm, collegial work environment.

The admissions and summer coordinator is responsible for coordinating the two tracks offered by Sunbridge Institute: 1) low-residency, Waldorf teacher education programs (which require a formal admissions process) and 2) short-term professional development and general interest offerings, consisting largely of our Summer Series courses and workshops, as well as workshops held throughout the year (and which have mostly open registration). The coordinator works about 30 hours a week from August through April and about 40 hours a week from May through July. (Note: Vacation time may not be taken from May-July.) During on-campus intensives and workshops, there will be some evening and/or weekend hours.

The coordinator works closely with the director of education and director of outreach, is an integral member of the advancement team, and reports directly to the executive director. Participation at staff meetings and other meetings is required.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Admissions Coordinator Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities are overseeing the application process to Sunbridge’s Waldorf teacher education programs from initial inquiry to enrollment, including handling phone, email, and written correspondence with and hosting events for prospective students; interfacing with program directors; and preparing admissions tracking reports for the Board. The Coordinator also plans logistics for the faculty and students in advance of their on-campus attendance (November, March, and June-July) including, but not limited to, classroom bookings, supply needs, and support, and, in close coordination with the director of education, manages the daily needs of faculty and students during their time on campus.

Summer Coordinator Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities are coordinating and planning Sunbridge’s courses and workshops (which take place primarily in the summer in the form of our Summer Series, but also on occasional weekends throughout the year), including arranging (along with colleagues and faculty) the roster of offerings; overseeing the participant registration process; handling the budget; managing the on-campus daily needs of faculty and students (in close coordination with the director of education); and supervising at least one assistant.

Minimum Requirements

  • Highly detail-oriented with proven ability to develop, lead and direct processes, prioritize projects and manage a large volume of work with many moving parts
  • Proven ability to positively interact with the public and work well under pressure
  • Significant experience with computer software (Microsoft office) and record-keeping processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with social media (Facebook and Instagram) a plus
  • Experience in academic setting or other non-profit environment a plus
  • Experience in Waldorf educational environment a plus
  • Minimum associate’s degree
