The Vice President of Finance provides strategic financial input and leadership to ensure fiscal integrity of our organization.  This position reports to the President & CEO and is a key strategic partner on the executive leadership team. Additionally, the role of the Vice President of Finance is to create successful partnerships by collaborating with internal and external resources. Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the agency.
  • Responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by applicable regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of investments.
  • Oversee the duties carried out by finance department staff and ensure all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, and daily/monthly operations results are met.
  • Set and establish benchmarks towards established goals and protocols that produce a clean audit.
  • File timely and accurate taxes.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by developing annual budgets and department projections; provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to assist the CEO/President, the Board and other leaders in performing their responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
Educational Background: 
Equivalent of a Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university with CPA certification.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Six (6) years of full-time equivalent experience in the accounting, controller duties and strategic leadership.  Healthcare/non-profit background preferred.
