The position holder will assist the Security and Fleet Manager to keep abreast of the security environment. Facilitate the planning of implementation of security training. To provide on-going support to Security and Fleet Manager in the promotion of security awareness. Assist the Security and Fleet Manager ensure compliance with Core Security Requirements, developing implementation plans for security enhancement, undertaking routine drills/trainings and controlling inventory and state-of-readiness of security assets.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure up- to-date and relevant context monitoring/reporting (30%)
  • Ensure a safety and security in WVB working environment (30%)
  • Ensures awareness of Core Security Requirements and adherence to security related policies, plans and procedures (25%)
  • Facilitate ,support and /or organize WV security trainings at national office and East Africa Region (15%)​
Educational Background: 
A university degree in Social Sciences or equivalent degree in a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in a position that requires management and decision making
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in security forces (Police or army) and officially separated is an added value
  • Experience in crisis management preferred;
  • Expertise in the analysis of security threats, risks and vulnerability in East Africa Region countries;
  • Experience in a position that requires analysis and/or extensive interaction with government/security stakeholders

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Excellent computer skills in Excel , Word and PowerPoint
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Fluency in oral and written communication in English and French
  • Additional academic security qualifications will be an added advantage

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with frequent travel to field
  • Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.
  • On call whenever it is required
