You will be responsible for strengthening and supporting Health GAP’s administrative and financial systems including finance, accounting, information technology, human resources, and internal communications. As a member of our senior management team, you will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives.

Finance and Budgeting

Responsibility for overall financial management including the review and approval of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the Executive Director and Board of Directors

Oversight of budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow and coordination of audit activities as well as accounts payable and receivable

Demonstrate the relationship between our goals and resultant fundraising needs

Work closely with the Director of Development in delivering financial requirements our grant applications and reporting
Administration/Operations

Partner with the Executive Director to ensure strong administrative and operational systems and processes;

They must continuously evaluate and improve Health GAP’s financial systems, internal communications mechanisms, staff management and work planning systems, and information technology infrastructure; implementing new technologies to support key capabilities as required for continued organizational growth, and to support and drive key human resource initiatives.
Staff Management

Overall responsibility for personnel recruitment processes including marketing, operations and management

You will also partner with other managers to ensure that the focus remains on the organization’s mission while maintaining Health GAP’s unique collaborative and dynamic activist culture.
Candidate profile
As an ideal candidate, you would already have a familiarity with and respect for Health GAP’s role in the fight against the global AIDS pandemic as well as knowledge of public health issues, particularly global HIV-related issues, along with at least 10-plus years of experience, with at least five years managing the finance and administration of a $1 million or more organization or business unit. You will have experience leading planning efforts and running operationally effective organizations. You must have the ability to harness technology solutions in order to more quickly and efficiently manage the resources needed for key activities and to compare performance against plans. Nonprofit experience is a plus, with a strong preference for someone who has operated in a fast growing environment that has limited budgets and resources.

Compensation is competitive and will be determined based on a combination of factors, including level of experience and the cost-of-living in the city you work from. For example, the annual salary for this position in New York City will be between $99,000 to $115,000.
