NRDC is seeking a Winter Intern to work with our Nature Program in NRDC’s Northern Rockies Office in Bozeman, Montana. This internship will support NRDC’s advocacy work on wildlife and other conservation issues in the Northern Rockies. Some travel may be required. The internship will begin in January 2020 or soon thereafter (based on the candidate) and will last 10 weeks. It is a 35-hour-per-week position and provides a stipend.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Research factual and policy issues relevant to NRDC’s wildlife advocacy and other conservation issues;
- Draft, proofread, and edit documents (e.g., research memoranda);
- Help with outreach and education efforts; and
- Assist Nature program staff with various projects.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
Skills/Experience:
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and perform well under deadlines;
- Highly organized and excellent time-management skills;
- Professional demeanor and presentation;
- Attention to detail;
- Strong written and verbal communications skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work with others;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Interest in conservation issues in the West; and
- Alignment with NRDC’s values.
