NRDC is seeking an intern to work with our Nature Program in our Northern Rockies office, situated in Bozeman, Montana. This internship will support NRDC’s advocacy on wildlife and land issues in the Northern Rockies (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming). The internship will begin in early June of 2019 and continue for a duration of at least ten weeks. Some travel may be required. This is a full time, paid internship.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Research factual and policy issues relevant to NRDC’s wildlife and wild lands advocacy;
  • Draft, proofread, and edit documents (e.g., research memoranda, fact sheets);
  • Help with outreach and education efforts; and
  • Generally assist program staff with various projects.
Educational Background: 
Recent graduate or undergraduate with at least two years of undergraduate study;
Skills/Experience: 
  • Outstanding academic record;
  • Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple demanding tasks;
  • Strong interest in conservation issues in the West;
  • Ability to commit to at least ten weeks of internship; and
  • Enthusiasm for NRDC’s mission.

Preferred:

  • Positive outlook;
  • Interest in large carnivore conservation; and
  • Capacity to work with a range of partners in diverse settings.
