The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and one of the most innovative and successful organizations of its kind - is seeking two (2) Director of Fundraising and Development positions for our Northeast and Southeast Regions. This is a home-based position and candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to either region.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Works with chapter staff to develop fund-raising strategies and coach staff to achieve goals (via conference call and in-person)
  • Consults with Field Directors and chapter staff to analyze performance and assists with developing strategies to help chapters meet and/or exceed their P2P campaign event budgets.
  • Analyzes data (national, regional, market-size) looking for trends and opportunities and assists with the development of new fundraising opportunities
  • Works with fundraising team to develop and take lead on national trainings/webinars, plays a role in developing Volunteer Leadership Conference workshop content, and works collectively as a team to develop national P2P program tools and templates
  • Participates and plays a lead role in national P2P task forces, and works collectively as a team to implement outcomes from national work group meetings and develops recommended strategies for Field
  • Working with chapter staff, identifies, initiates and manages regional national partnerships
  • Works with Field Director on staffing patterns/issues influencing change as necessary
Educational Background: 
Relevant degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have peer-to-peer fund-raising event experience showing new development and progressive success in events; 5-7 years fund-raising experience required with at least three of those being internal. Must have a great understanding of committee/volunteer development-and working with volunteers to achieve financial success
  • Must be able to translate that experience when coaching others to achieve successful events
  • Must be able to model appropriate techniques/behavior during chapter visits and calls
  • Strong problem solving - to quickly understand a situation from a distance and be able to come up with solutions/ways to improve;
  • Strong analytical ability - data analysis and global review of program
  • Must have an interest and ability in mentoring others to help them achieve their true potential
  • Strong ability to teach/train/coach/give feedback required
  • Experience speaking to groups and motivating
  • Experience develping professional and effective materials
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and organize workload efficiently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think srategically while still tracking and managing details of the program
  • Effective in developing productive and professional relationships with contacts based in chapters, national and home based
  • Gain trust and be able to influence and affect change
  • Excellent judgement when responding to complex or challenging situations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of responsibility; new campaign staff to CEOs of companies
  • Excellent recall for facts and information about specific event and chapter staff
