Serves in an Interim capacity in development staff roles for chapters during vacancy periods and may be supporting multiple chapters at a time.  Responsible for developing and managing fundraising events or programs that will ensure financial growth by executing CFF best practices in compliance with CFF policies and procedures. Provides coaching and mentoring to assigned staff. Provides staff guidance and support to event volunteers.  Carries out responsibilities in a manner that supports a collaborative, donor centric culture. In all aspects of their role, the Chapter Development Services Director strives to deliver quality results in a manner that is respectful and supportive of others.

Essential Functions: (These represent those duties that must be performed in the job)

Fundraising

  • In lieu of permanent chapter staff is accountable for revenue of assigned events.
  • Develops and manages fundraising plans and budgets designed to achieve growth over prior year.
  • Ensures key fundraising best practices are followed and key performance benchmarks are achieved by:
    • Identifying, recruiting, cultivating new corporate sponsors, committee members, chairs, and volunteers through in-person visits and virtual meetings
    • Renewing and upgrading participants, committee members and sponsors,
    • Traveling to chapter to network with CF families, patients, volunteers, and corporate sponsors to upgrade and recruit new business. Personally, seeks underwriting, in-kind donations and auction items and trains and utilizes volunteers to do the same
  • Uses communication tools including skype and email to recruit, train and cultivate fundraising honorees, team leaders, and committee members.
  • Develops sponsorship proposals and other event materials.
  • In cooperation with Executive Director and other chapter staff, evaluates effectiveness of events; conducts post event wrap up and evaluation meetings, as applicable
  • Plans, implements, and attends events.
  • May be asked to identify and assist with cultivation of prospects for Individual Giving or with chapter wide volunteer recruitment and stewardship.

Financial/Administrative

  • Completes all required training and maintains current knowledge of all financial and accounting systems and procedures.
  • Records and enters constituent information into record-keeping system to facilitate the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes of the foundation.
  • Prepares forms, materials and reports for assigned events and submits post-event follow up documentation in a timely manner.
  • Accurately forecasts revenue and tracks expenses for assigned events.
  • Carries out all financial and accounting responsibilities in compliance with audit procedures

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of the Field Management team so may have responsibilities as assigned with other activities including Volunteer Leadership Conference, Staff Conference, Workshops and Field Advisory Groups.
Educational Background: 
Four-year degree or equivalent education/experience required
Skills/Experience: 
  • 8 or more years of fundraising/sales experience preferred
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong volunteer management experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) necessary in order to communicate diplomatically and effectively with volunteers, donors, and staff
  • Collaborative team player

Reporting Relationships:

  • The supervisor is the Chapter Management Services Director. Important interactions will include chapter Executive Directors, Field Directors and the Sr. VP of Field Management. This position will work closely with FOMs and current chapter staff in managing events as well as national event partners and in some cases IGOs.
