AARP Maryland is seeking a Community Outreach Intern with an interest in the following areas and to be based in our downtown Baltimore office.

  • Fraud and Scam Prevention
  • Supporting Caregivers
  • Livable Communities
  • Jobseeker Resources
Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The intern will staff events and attend meetings and in order to do so, will need to take the time to learn AARP systems (i.e., the Volunteer Portal), AARP issues and AARP’s culture based on the Enterprise Plan and to enhance their ability to serve as a good steward to the organization while in the field.
  • The candidate will also assist in our annual "Harvest for the Hungry" Campaign efforts and will serve as one of the main points of contact for hundreds of volunteers who carry out this spring food drive. It will be the job of the intern to maintain correspondence, answer questions and ensure all food drive partners and AARP volunteers have the tools and direction they need to carry out the food drive.
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered undergraduate juniors or seniors.
