The purpose of this position is to implement all community activities for formal & Informal stakeholder actors in Azraq Camp with quality standards aiming at improving community members and child protection committee role within the camp. Under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Coordinator in collaboration with outreach freelance and outreach volunteers will be responsible for planning, organizing, reporting all outreach, community, referral and community activities within the timeline and the budget planned in Child Protection in Emergency for Azraq Camp Project.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support in mobilizing the communities to play an effective role in protecting the rights of the children
  • Liaise with community leaders and parents to introduce program activities and encourage community involvement in program implementation and monitoring.
  • Support the CP Coordinator in the process of establishing and strengthening community-based Child Protection Committees and ensure they are up and running according to their ToRs
  • Facilitate CPCs processes in identifying the child protection risks and developing action plans to address those risks on self-help basis or using the resources available in the community
  • Support CPCs in planning, implementing and managing routine activities, i.e., conducting / attending meetings and recording minutes of the meetings and follow up on action plans.
  • Assist Peace centre facilitator in conducting parents and CPC Meetings
  • Field Focal Point for the Peace Center to monitor, identify and refer child protection issues as per the agreed interagency protocols and procedures
  • Compile weekly, monthly reports on describing activities, indicators, case studies and lesson learned including major child protection concerns
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of child protection/child rights.
  • Good command of Arabic and English.
  • Computer literate mainly with MSOffice software package Good communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to deal with children and people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to foster a good team spirit.
  • Ability to transmit information correctly with accountability and maintain confidentiality.
  • Animation skills and child friendly attitude.

  • Work under pressure.
  • Creative with coming up with new ideas & activities.
  • 1-3 years of experience of working with children, adolescents and parents in camps context;
  • Experience in Community Mobilization, advocacy & Motivating Communities
