Supports day-to-day order fulfillment for specific regions consistent with nationwide policy and performance standards. This role regularly works with Division based Event Managers, Corporate Center Business Units, and other members of the Supply Chain team to acquire goods and services and ensure they are delivered to the right place at the right time. Responsible for managing incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services. Responsible for utilizing approved P2P tools for submitting and tracking all orders submitted. Responsible for managing local and regional bids, and supporting nationwide bids. May serves as a Divisional and/or category expert for one or more Divisions and/or categories. May provide guidance and direction to other buyers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Competitively identify appropriate local or regional suppliers when an established nationwide supplier solution does not exist.
  • Responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved suppliers and placing orders in response to product or service requirements established by various departments.
  • May provide guidance and direction to other buyers.
  • Manage bid process for local or regional solutions.
  • Create contracts as required for local or regional suppliers
  • Issue purchase order to selected supplier.
  • Coordinate the purchase and delivery of goods, material, services, supplies, etc for Divisions and Corporate Center; issue purchase orders and manage order modifications
  • Track orders and take appropriate corrective action where necessary to assure on-time delivery.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Divisions, Supply Chain, and/or Suppliers to resolve questions/concerns/escalations regarding ordering and delivery of goods and services.
  • Create required reports, communications and status updates
  • Assist with managing supplier relationships
  • Interact with cross-functional team members
  • Provide product, spend, and supplier information to category managers as requested; assist with category management as assigned
  • Receives purchase request information from internal constituents and creates purchase orders for external submission.
  • Utilizes approved P2P tool to capture and track all external orders.
  • Works closely with other Supply Chain team members to provide and analyze purchasing data around products, trends, seasonal spend, etc.
  • Maintains a high level of communication between Procurement and requestors regarding purchases and delivery.
  • Will assist with other work assigned on an as needed basis.
  • Dedication to providing high quality service to all internal stakeholders.
  • Team player that develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external business partners.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required, prefer concentration in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.

Other Skills:

  • Experience utilizing an electronic Purchasing tool; Global eProcure preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 5+ years working in a purchasing environment, conducting administrative and transactional activities; preferably has experience purchasing multiple categories.
  • Basic knowledge of formal sourcing processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (ie Excel, Word, PowerPoint)• Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
  • Basic knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
  • Experience purchasing from nationwide, regional, and local suppliers.
  • Ability to work well with others in a deadline-oriented environment a must
  • Accuracy and speed in data entry
  • Ability to effectively manage day-to-day interaction with, liaison between, and coordination of a wide range of internal and external constituencies involved in purchasing activities.
  • Possess a positive and proactive ('can do') attitude.
  • Outstanding work ethic, detailed-oriented, motivated with commitment to quality and teamwork
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, follow up and attention to customer service.
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new skills• Ability to travel when necessary
