The internship opportunities are open to current students or recent graduates of a college program. The intern is expected to demonstrate a keen interest in nonprofits, as well as interest in a field of study related to the position.
The Intern is part of the Worldwide Membership Accountability team, whose overarching objective is to oversee the compliance and alignment of international United Way’s with network-wide requirements and standards of operation. This intern position will learn from and help the Vice President of Finance and Director of Worldwide Membership Accountability to analyze financial data from international United Ways. Work with concrete financial and organizational issues to determine solutions and help the department develop resources for the ongoing monitoring of NGO financial and organizational health transnationally.
- Collecting and analyzing financial data related to United Way partners around the world
- Assisting with the analysis of financial statements and yearly financial network data collected through an online platform; understanding of math, accounting, excel, and standard analysis functions required
- May laisse with the international regional teams of in Latin America, Africa & Caribbean, Europe & Middle East, India, Canada, and Asia-Pacific to acquire and verify financial data
- Other duties as assigned

- Strong analytical and communication skills along with demonstrated leadership ability
- Strong understanding of math, excel, and standard analysis functions

- Ability to speak/read/write Chinese or another foreign language (not required)
